Journey through the rich history and living cultures of the Gascoyne

Step inside the Exhibition Gallery and discover the stories, cultures and living traditions of the five Aboriginal language groups of the Gascoyne.

Through immersive displays, cultural objects, photographs, multimedia and personal stories, the gallery explores thousands of years of connection to Country, celebrating the knowledge, resilience and creativity of the region’s First Peoples. From traditional practices and seasonal living to contemporary achievements, each exhibit offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Gascoyne’s unique cultural landscape.

The exhibitions have been developed in close collaboration with local Aboriginal communities, ensuring that the stories shared are authentic, respectful and guided by the voices of Traditional Owners. As you move through the gallery, you’ll encounter themes of family, language, art, spirituality and the enduring relationship between people and Country.

Take your time to explore each display, listen to the stories and reflect on the connections that continue to shape the Gascoyne today. Every visit offers a chance to learn something new and to appreciate the richness of one of Australia’s oldest living cultures.
