Burlganyja Wangayaya, meaning "old people talking, listen, learn and respect," was crafted for the Aboriginal People of the Gascoyne. It celebrates the region's five language groups and serves as a vital space for elders to pass down stories to younger generations.
This tradition of storytelling has been a cornerstone of cultural continuity for tens of thousands of years, fostering a deep sense of community and connection. Visitors are encouraged to engage with these narratives, gaining insight into the rich heritage of the Gascoyne's Aboriginal communities.
