From Great Depths
Witnessing the wrecks of Sydney II and Kormoran
Beneath 2,500 metres of ocean, two wartime giants lie silently on the seabed, powerful reminders of a fierce naval battle off Western Australia’s coast. From Great Depths invites you to witness these wrecks as they are today, revealed in hauntingly detailed 2D and 3D imagery captured during a groundbreaking 2015 deep-sea survey. This moving gallery explores the dramatic final encounter between HMAS Sydney (II) and the German raider Kormoran, offering a cinematic 3D experience of the underwater sites, intimate personal stories from both crews, and rare historical photographs that honour their service and sacrifice.
Regular 3D film screenings daily.
