The Moray Eel – Reef Predator

Scientific Name:               Gymnothorax javanicus

Habitat:                                Rocky reefs with sheltered hiding areas

Conservation Status:      Least concern

Threats:                               Climate change

 

Researcher Note: 

Walking around the reefs at low tide, we often encountered these beautiful animals as they hunted the fish trapped in the rock pools.
