Worthington Simpson Duplex Steam Feed Pump

Worthington Simpson was created in 1885 by the amalgamation of two firms, Worthington Pumping Engine Co of the USA, and James Simpson and Co of England.  Both companies had their roots in early inventors in the steam industry.

Worthington Simpson steam pumps could be found throughout the world.  This tiny general service pump was one of the smallest in their range.  They also made the pumps for the Goldfields water pipeline in Western Australia.  Whilst essentially the same design, each of the sixteen Goldfields pumps was eight metres long.
