Gold False Teeth
A Glimpse into Claude de Bernales’ Extravagance
Among the more unusual relics of Claude Albo de Bernales’ wealth and status is this set of false teeth, crafted with gold plates. These finely moulded plates were designed to fit the palate and base of the mouth, with clips to attach to existing teeth, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit.
Much like his grand business ventures and lavish lifestyle, these gold false teeth reflect de Bernales’ affinity for opulence, even in the smallest details of daily life. They serve as a quirky yet revealing artifact, offering insight into the extravagance of one of Western Australia’s most fascinating financial figures.
