Ivanhoe Headframe

The Ivanhoe Headframe at the WA Museum of the Goldfields stands an impressive 39 metres high and is a striking symbol of the region’s mining heritage. Originally part of the Big Bell Mine in Cue, the headframe was later relocated to the Ivanhoe Mine in Kalgoorlie, where it played a crucial role in hoisting miners and ore from deep underground. Today, visitors can access the lookout platform by lift, offering spectacular panoramic views of Kalgoorlie and its historic goldfields. This towering structure not only showcases the engineering feats of early mining but also serves as a powerful tribute to the perseverance of those who worked in the depths of the gold mines.
