An exchange economy

In this audio, WA Museum Curator Ross Anderson describes an early system of barter and exchange that existed in Mammang-Koort/ King George Sound. Without money for currency, the economy depended on trade between the colonisers and Menang people. While the system effectively supported the colony, it impacted Menang traditional lifeways.
