This early parking meter once stood on Marine Terrace, helping to manage Geraldton’s growing traffic in the 1970s. You’d drop in a coin, twist the dial, and hope to beat the meter before time ran out!

By the 1990s, this mechanical style was replaced by more modern systems. But for many locals, it’s a nostalgic reminder of a time when parking meant pocket change and winding up a timer.
