Upright Laminar Coral

Turbinaria bifrons is a hard coral recognised by its upright, plate-like colonies that can form tiered structures. Found on reef slopes and in deeper lagoons, its broad surfaces capture sunlight for the symbiotic algae living within its tissues. These algae provide much of the coral’s energy through photosynthesis, helping it thrive in clear, well-lit waters.
