Branching Coral
Acropora formosa
Acropora formosa is a fast-growing branching coral found on shallow reef slopes in tropical and subtropical waters. Its dense, tree-like branches provide shelter for small reef fish and invertebrates, while contributing to the complex structure of coral reef ecosystems. Like other corals, it lives in partnership with microscopic algae that supply it with energy through photosynthesis.
