Woma or Ramsey’s Python

The woma (Aspidites ramsayi) is a large, non-venomous python once widespread across the interior of Western Australia. It is now extinct in some inland areas due to habitat loss and the impact of introduced predators such as foxes and cats. Womas are powerful constrictors that feed mainly on reptiles and small mammals, and they play an important role in maintaining the balance of arid ecosystems.
