Articles of War

Consolidated PBY Catalinas were long-range patrol aircraft that could remain airborne for over 24 hours on maritime surveillance, bombing, search and rescue and transport duties. Items recovered from the wrecks give us an insight into the hazards and life on board a military aircraft.

They include a folded silk parachute, navigational sextant, Very-type flare gun, harness seatbelt buckle and a Dutch Government-issued mug bearing the Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
